Eden Roc Hotel is located in Malindi along the serene north Coast of Kenya. It is only a couple of hours away from the famous harbour town of Mombasa. The hotel is built on a coral cliff and is only about 4 metres above the high water mark level. It is composed of two main buildings and bungalows spread over a large Tropical Park with large exotic trees, shrubs, flowers which on their own are a sight to behold.

The pillar is situated on the seafront road near the jetty. It is accessed from Scorpio Villas or alternatively from the Silversands area. The pillar is one of the oldest remaining monuments in Africa and was built in 1498 by the great Portuguese explorer, Vasco da Gama as a sign of appreciation for the welcome he was given by the Sultan of Malindi.
